Member of College Staff Recognised

As the Archbishop Beck community gathered for the final time on Friday 18th in the Cedar Road campus, Paul Dickinson, the Headteacher, had one final duty to do and that was to say farewell to a number of staff who were leaving to take up positions in other areas of education, but also to say a very special farewell to a Mrs Hilda Rimmer who was retiring after over 30 years of service to the education of young people in the area. Mrs Rimmer was retiring from the catering department of the college.

Mr Dickinson spoke of Hilda’s “compassion, energy, and ingenuity in serving others; we thank her and salute her as one of the outstanding members of our community. He added, perhaps Lewis Caroll one of the great English authors summed it all up when he said “One of the deep secrets of life is that all that is really worth doing is what we do for others.”

A long and happy retirement!
