France Trip
This year’s Modern Foreign Languages Department trip to France took place in March. 26 students from year 7 and 8 travelled to the Pas de Calais region of France to enjoy a few days immersed in French culture and language.
Whilst in France, students took part in a number of activities including making bread at a Boulangerie, tasting freshly made sweets at a sweet factory, making their own chocolates to take home to family and a very interesting visit to a snail farm, where some of the students took the opportunity to taste the French delicacy ‘Escargots’!
We also went to Boulogne where the students visited a French restaurant and spent the afternoon exploring the beautiful old town of Boulogne.
We stayed in the lovely Chateaux d’Ebblinghem and the students thoroughly enjoyed the facilities available to them of an evening, including a flood lit football pitch, pool tables and arcade games, whilst the teachers enjoyed a very competitive game of boules!
The students were a credit to their families and the school with many students taking the opportunity to practise their language skills. Well done to all!
