Special guests of Edge Hill University
Inspiration feeds Aspiration
Edge Hill University Arts Centre hosted a concert by Olivier and Tony Award nominee Ramin Karimloo recently and invited four of our Music Theatre students along as special guests; Jon-Joe (Head Boy), Amy, Anna & James. The students were accompanied by woodwind teacher Miss Haughton, who also studied Music Theatre during her time here at the college.
Ramin is best known for playing lead roles in The Phantom of the Opera & Les Miserables Mis rables in the West End. He also originated the role of the Phantom in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Love Never Dies and made his Broadway debut as Valjean in the 2014 revival production of Les Mis rables.
Speaking after the event, Clare Chandler (Head of Music Theatre) said: “We were delighted to have Ramin Karimloo perform at Edge Hill, to have an artist of his calibre and with his experience share their work with our students is an unbeatable and unforgettable experience. It was wonderful to be able to share this with potential future musical theatre students from across the North West and we were very happy that students from Archbishop Beck were able to join us”.
Mrs Newtown, Vocal Director at the College added “we are committed to providing every opportunity to expand the aspirations of our students and such events fulfil our aims.”
