“What’s in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet”. Juliet (Act II, Scene 2)
On 17th May the college hosted a play delivered by D-Street Media, it was a modern day adaptation of Romeo and Juliet with a humorous twist.
The play, although humorous, dealt with many serious and important issues that the young people of today may have to deal with. The issues the play approached included peer pressure, gangs, anti-social behaviour, racism, and the consequences of students actions around these themes.
After the play there was a Q & A session and the presentation rounded off with the students being sign-posted to the relevant organisations for help and advice about the issues that have been covered, it also highlighted the work of the Samaritans and the support they provide.
The presentation was well received by students and staff, we would like to thank D-Street Media for all the support they provide the college in delivering challenging topics in an manner that is very engaging.
