Charity Ambassadors’ Outstanding Work
“Not All of Us Can do Great Things, but We Can do Small Things with Great Love.” Mother Teresa.
Congratulations to our students and members of staff who have been very active in organising events to support the work of the Catholic International Charity (CAFOD)
What does CAFOD do?
It is an international development charity and the official aid agency of the Catholic Church in England and Wales.
They reach out to people living in poverty with practical help, whatever their religion or culture. Through their global Church network, one of the largest in the world, they have the potential to reach everyone. They campaign for global justice, so that every woman, man and child can live a full and dignified life.
What we did…
There were three cake sales, Form groups held raffles and class sales. 8ES raised £129.00 on watching A Nightmare Before Christmas in the Hall. There were also Form Collections.
College Chaplain, Peter Benson said, “we have raised £587.58 that will pay for a, Medical Team: £300.00, One Cow £150.00, Three water pumps £33 each and three £10 gifts to bring reading to a child.”
Paul Dickinson, Headteacher, said, “we are very proud of the actions our young people have shown to the work of CAFOD over many years, they really do let their let light shine via their actions into the lives of those not so fortunate as themselves.”
Come Lord Jesus, come
and let your light shine through us
so that through our actions
we may be salt for the earth,
a light in people’s sight
and that we might reach out to you
in one another,
especially those in need.
Amen
